Every Friday morning from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, CnK Volunteers prepare donated books at Bucks County Community College – Newtown Campus

NAC Read Aloud – Wednesday, October 7th, 10:30-11:30
We will be reading to groups of toddlers at the Newton Athletic Club. Each group will have fall themed stories and an activity to follow up. Every child will select a book to take home. It will be similar to our work with the Pre-k Counts classes.

Fire Prevention Night at Yardley Makefield Fire Company – Friday, October 9th, 5:45 – 9:15
Join us at the Yardley Makefield Fire Company on Friday, October 9th for their annual open house. This has been a great event in past years. It is well attended by the community and it is fun. There were live fire demos during last year’s open house. We need lots of hands to give out books and sign up new volunteers (hopefully).

Yardley Harvest Day – Saturday, October 19th, 10am – 2pm
This year we will participating with St Andrew’s Church. We will be over by the lake. There will be food trucks, businesses, craft vendors, entertainment and much more. Join us to help children select their books and help spread our message about improving literacy.
